MRI scans use a magnetic field combined with radiofrequency signals to produce an image of the internal structures of your body. The images include bone, soft tissue, ligaments, muscles, joints, blood vessels and other internal organs.

Why are MRI scans useful?

MRI scans are safe with the right precautions. The scan only utilizes the radiofrequency waves similar to radio waves from a tower. This is not ionizing radiation like X-Rays or gamma rays, so it does no damage to cellular DNA.

How long does a scan take?
